Writing Coaching

You have been so deeply helpful to me as a mentor, coach AND editor. Thank you SO much for standing by my side every step of the way and helping me give birth to this baby! Working with you has far exceeded my expectations of what it would mean to have an editor. Thank you!

Sharing Your Knowledge with Others

Do you have a story to tell? Information, skills and knowledge that could transform the lives of others if you could just get them down on paper?

If you have written something that isn't working yetor you are suffering from procrastination, lack of motivation, and other forms of writer's blocka writing coach can be an invaluable ally.

For example, I can help you:

To start the visioning process, I ask you questions that open up your thinking about your subject, audience and purpose. I also introduce you to fun, creative tools that will help you generate ideas, break through writer's block, and get your energy flowing.

I help you break down your writing task into manageable chunks that enable you to tackle and complete the process step-by-step. I also suggest ways you can research your topic, find its overall theme, and brainstorm and organize its major points (or chapters).

In a cooperative, back-and-forth process, I give you feedback on your writing while encouraging you to develop your own voice and style. I also help to ensure that your ideas are clearly organized, well developed, and full of the rich detail, anecdotes and illustrations that will bring your story to life.

When the final draft is ready, I help you polish it. This includes helping you choose strong, active verbs and concrete nouns; eliminate wordiness; and turn passive constructions into active voice. It also includes making sure your final draft is free of errors in grammar, spelling, word choice and punctuation.
